Industry: Trades

Website and SEO for tradespeople: more jobs from your area.

We build websites for trade businesses that get found on Google in their region and turn visitors into enquiries: with one page per service, photos of real projects, price ranges, an enquiry that takes one minute on a mobile phone, and a careers page for new staff. For Accron, a master craftsman business (Meisterbetrieb) for heat pumps in Frankfurt, over 100 leads have come in since the new website went live. Websites with us start at €2,500.

Scope of services

What you get

For trade businesses that want more enquiries through their website. Your quote after the intro call sets out the exact scope.

  • A separate page for every service, so Google finds you for each search

  • Photos of real projects instead of stock images, with location and a short text

  • Enquiries via a call button or a short form, with photo upload for damage if you want

  • Google Business Profile with reviews that also appear on the website

  • A careers page that shows what it is like to work for you, with applications in a few clicks

What a website for tradespeople has to do

A tradesperson’s website has three jobs. It should show up on Google when someone in your region searches for your service. It should turn that visitor into an enquiry. And it should convince applicants to come and work for you. Most websites manage the first one at best.

Where most tradespeople’s websites lose customers

For a study in the Deutsche Handwerks Zeitung, a German trade newspaper, the handwerk-digital team examined 500 websites of roofers, painters, plumbing and heating (SHK) businesses, joiners and electricians, in each case the first 20 Google results in Munich, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Leipzig and Hamburg (July 2025). On average, the sites scored 2.12 out of a possible 9 points.

  • 88% give no prices, not even a range.
  • Only 15% answer typical customer questions, for example in an FAQ section.
  • 78% show no photo of the owner or a contact person.
  • Only 16% embed reviews such as those from Google.
  • Only 1% offer online appointment booking.
  • 53% have no page for applicants.

For you, that is good news: if you solve these points, you already stand out clearly in most regions.

How we build websites for trade businesses

One page per service. Anyone who searches for “bathroom renovation” and their town should land on a page about bathroom renovation, not on a homepage that lists twenty services. At Meisterbetrieb Brauburger, each of the 14 services has its own page, from accident repairs and wheel alignment to the towing service.

Real projects and real people. Photos of building sites and finished work, with the location and two sentences about the job, are more convincing than stock images. A photo of the owner and the team belongs there too, because customers are letting someone into their home.

A price range. Starting prices, a sample project with costs or a calculator like the solar savings calculator at Accron show early on whether you fit the budget. That saves you site visits that lead nowhere.

An enquiry in one minute. On a mobile phone, the phone number is a button, and the form asks only for what is needed. If you want, customers can upload photos so you can assess damage in advance.

Make reviews visible. Reviews from your Google Business Profile belong on the website too, where customers make their decision: next to the service and the enquiry form.

A careers page that makes people want to join. What you pay, what a working day looks like, which vehicles and tools you have, who is on the team. Plus an application that takes a few clicks on a mobile phone, without a cover letter. Accron has its own careers page on its website for this.

Fast on mobile. We build lean sites without the baggage of page builders and plugins. How big the difference can be is shown by our own move, described in the guide on the WordPress alternative.

Getting found in your region

When someone searches for “electrician” and a place name, Google usually shows a map with three businesses first, with the normal search results below. For the map, what counts most is your Google Business Profile: categories, reviews, photos, up-to-date details and the distance to the searcher. How to build it step by step is covered in the guide Optimising your Google Business Profile.

For the normal search results, your service pages count. If you work in several places, pages for the most important places are added, each with its own content: which jobs you do there, how travel and appointments work, which projects there are nearby. Copied pages with a swapped place name achieve nothing. How we approach this as a whole is described under Local SEO.

FAQ

Questions about websites and SEO for trade businesses

How much does a website for tradespeople cost?

A website for a trade business starts at €2,500 with us for a simple site. With a separate page per service, a project gallery and a careers page it costs more; you get the exact quote after the intro call. Maintenance and hosting start at €129 per month.

Is SEO worth it for a trade business?

Yes, if you want more or better jobs in your region. When someone searches for a service with a place name, Google usually shows a map with three businesses first. To get started, a well-maintained Google Business Profile is often enough, from €500 per month. If you want to rank at the top for several services or places, you need local SEO with service and location pages, from €1,500 per month.

Do I need a website if I already have enough work?

Yes, for applicants. According to the Bundesagentur für Arbeit (Federal Employment Agency), a vacancy in the trades stays unfilled for 242 days on average, compared with 167 days across all occupations (as of September 2026). Anyone who wants to apply looks at the website first. In an analysis of 500 tradespeople's websites, 53% had no page for applicants.

Should I put prices on my website?

A price range almost always helps, for example a starting price or a sample project with costs. Customers see early on whether you fit their budget, and you get fewer enquiries that are not a fit. In the analysis of 500 tradespeople's websites, 88% gave no prices at all, so a price range makes you stand out.

How do I get more Google reviews?

Ask right after the job is finished, while the customer is happy, and send the review link by text message, WhatsApp or as a QR code on the invoice. Google's guidelines prohibit rewards for reviews. How to build your profile as a whole is covered in the guide to the Google Business Profile.

Do you only work for businesses in Hanau?

No. We are based in Hanau and work for businesses across Germany. Meetings take place on site or by video. Accron, for example, is based in Frankfurt, Brauburger in Gründau in the Main-Kinzig district, DATA-AUTO in Essen.
