When SEO consulting is the right choice
SEO consulting fits if you have people who can implement, but nobody who says what comes first. Typical situations: a marketing team that writes copy but does not know which search queries to write for. A developer who maintains the website but has no time to get to grips with Core Web Vitals. Or an agency that designs well but only does SEO on the side.
In all these cases, what is missing is not manpower but direction. That is exactly what we provide.
What you have in hand after the consulting
After the consulting, you have three things your team can use to keep working without us.
A page plan. A spreadsheet that assigns exactly one page to every important search query. With search volume, competition and the status of the page: existing, expand or create. This ends the problem of several pages competing for the same keyword.
An action list. Every action with its effort, expected impact and owner. Sorted so that the first weeks bring visible results.
A measurement setup. Search Console, a rank tracker for your target keywords and a simple monthly overview. That way you can see for yourself whether the work is paying off.
Keyword strategy: volume, purchase intent, competition
A good keyword strategy selects search queries by three criteria, not by search volume alone. Volume shows how often something is searched for. Purchase intent shows whether someone wants information or wants to hire someone. “What is SEO” has a lot of volume and hardly any purchase intent, “SEO consulting” has less volume and clear intent. Competition shows how strong the pages currently at the top are. The best opportunities lie where purchase intent is high and competition is low. These search queries go right at the top of your plan.
Typical findings from consulting
Many of the problems we find in consulting come up again and again. The most common ones:
- Several pages for the same search. Homepage, service page and blog article compete, and none of them stays at the top.
- Large numbers of thin pages. Dozens of glossary or archive pages with a few hundred words each, which Google gives little value.
- Missing service pages. There is no dedicated page for important offers, so none can rank.
- Misleading metrics. A high Domain Rating that consists mainly of spam links is seen as a strength.
- Missing redirects after a rebuild. Old URLs with backlinks lead nowhere.
Each of these points can be fixed. The skill lies in starting with what brings the most for your business.
How a sparring session works
A sparring session usually lasts one hour and follows a fixed structure. First we look at the figures since the last session together. Then we go through the open tasks and clarify what is stuck and why. Finally we agree what will happen before the next session and who takes it on. You can bring everyday questions at any time, for example about a draft text or a planned change.
Relaunch consulting: keep your rankings instead of losing them
A relaunch is the moment when most companies lose visibility. Old URLs disappear, good content gets cut, redirects are missing or run through several hops. We support relaunches from the start: an inventory of all URLs with impressions and backlinks, a redirect list, a review of the new structure on a staging environment and monitoring after go-live. If you also need the new website from us, you will find everything under Website relaunch.
One dedicated contact instead of an agency machine
Many people look for an SEO expert or SEO freelancer because they want one dedicated contact instead of changing project managers. With us, founder Karim Hadj Yahia leads the consulting himself. You speak to the person who analysed your website, and you get answers in the session, not after checking back with someone else.
Consulting or ongoing support
The question is simple: who does the implementation? If your team has the capacity, consulting is cheaper and builds knowledge in-house. If the list is still untouched after three months, ongoing SEO support, where we do the implementation ourselves, is worth it. The two can be combined: we take on the technical tasks, your team writes the content.
Who SEO consulting is not right for
SEO consulting is not right if nobody in the company has time for the implementation. Then you end up with a good plan that sits in a drawer. It is also not right if you need results within a few weeks: consulting speeds up the right decisions, but the impact only comes with implementation. In both cases, ongoing SEO support or a combination with ads is the better route. We tell you so openly in the intro call.
Where we start
It all starts with the free initial analysis. We look at your website and your most important search queries and show you the three biggest levers. Then you decide whether to continue with consulting, ongoing support or on your own.
If your topic is bigger than SEO, for example positioning, offer structure or pricing, our Business consulting is the better starting point.
FAQ
Questions about SEO consulting
What is the difference between SEO consulting and ongoing SEO support?
In consulting, we define the strategy and priorities, and your team does the implementation. With ongoing SEO support, we also take over the implementation. Many clients start with consulting and switch later when time runs short internally.
How much does SEO consulting cost?
SEO consulting costs €200 per hour. The initial analysis is free. After that you get a quote with a fixed scope.
Do you also support a relaunch?
Yes. In a relaunch, most rankings are lost through missing redirects and deleted content. We create the redirect list, check the new site structure before go-live and monitor the weeks that follow.
Do you work with our existing agency?
Yes. We deliver the page plan, briefs and priorities, and your agency implements them. If questions come up, we talk directly to the developers so that nothing gets lost in emails.
Do you also train our team?
Yes. The sparring is set up so that your team can make more decisions on its own with every session. On request, we run a dedicated workshop on keyword research, on-page SEO or Search Console.
