Situation
Schoeller Holdings is a family-owned holding company with businesses in shipping, aviation, hospitality and horticulture. The group includes Skyside and ACC Columbia Jet Service, among others, for which we have also built websites. The group website is the shared entry point for all areas.
The challenge
A holding company has many audiences at once: business partners, applicants, the press and its own companies. Each is looking for something different, and each company has its own website. The group website has to show how everything connects without overshadowing the subsidiaries’ brands. On top of that there is a fleet that changes constantly and still needs to be up to date on the website.
Approach
The website is built in English and structured by business area: Maritime, Aviation, Hospitality and Horticulture. Each area has its own subpages on the companies and links to their websites.
For shipping there is a fleet database. Bulk carriers, container ships, heavy-lift vessels, product tankers and offshore service vessels each have their own profiles. The team adds new vessels via custom content types in the CMS, without developers. The same applies to the news section, where the group publishes announcements from all areas.
The areas show how broadly the group is positioned: in shipping, for example, AAL Shipping, Hanse Bereederung and Deutsche Offshore Schifffahrt, and in hospitality the Columbia Beach Resort, the Columbia Restaurants and the Secret Valley golf course. A dedicated page describes the group’s commitment to sustainability, and privacy notices and terms and conditions are available as documents to download.
A video above the fold shows scenes from all areas of the group, from the hangar to the restaurant. More about how we work under Web design.
Result
The group has a presence that brings all areas together and that the team maintains itself: 74 vessel profiles, 34 news posts and four business areas with their own pages, as of October 2026. Anyone who comes across the group via a subsidiary finds the other areas here with one click.
